Meet Selina
Her paintings feel less like observations and more like recollections, fragments of memories reconstructed through color, texture, layering, and mark-making.
Her work feels deeply personal but never autobiographical in an obvious way. The viewer is not given a clear story. Instead, they are invited to project their own memories and emotions onto the canvas.
Selina Waxman is a Toronto-based abstract artist whose work sits between memory, emotion, landscape, and human connection.
Rather than painting literal scenes, she creates visual impressions of experiences, places, conversations, and people that have remained with her over time.

STYLE
Contemporary Abstract Expressionism with an emphasis on surface treatment, layering, and intuitive mark-making.
MATERIALS
Acrylic paint combined with gel mediums, oil, oil pastels, and tape, building physical layers across the canvas.
PROCESS
Intuitive and responsive. Each painting evolves through discovery rather than following a predetermined sketch.
SUBJECT
Memories, relationships, emotional impressions, never literal, always evocative. The viewer brings their own narrative.
